Our Male Peregrine got into trouble as a juvenile in La Honda, found in a backyard with multiple wing injuries. Although the injuries healed, he retained an inabiltiy to grow strong flight feathers and was deemed non releasable since he could not sustain altitude in flight.
This young bird is a steady, dependable ambassador, representing a long history of the near-demise of the Peregrine falcon and the subsequent recovery of the species.
He has become a huge fan of the hose spray as we clean his aviary. His favorite thing is to “run in the sprinklers”.
